“They photographed our wedding as if they were capturing their best friends’ wedding.”
The weekend began at Le Tap Room Bistro at Manoir Hovey, where Olivia and Christopher welcomed their guests for an evening overlooking Lake Massawippi. Guests gathered on the terrace and under the illuminated tent for drinks, dinner, and an acoustic duo, setting a relaxed tone for the wedding weekend ahead.
There were emotional speeches, plenty of laughter, and, because we couldn't resist, we pulled Olivia and Christopher away for a few minutes for a late-night couple session. Le Tap Room's historic atmosphere, lakeside setting, and warm interiors made it the perfect place to begin the celebrations. The bistro sits beneath century-old beams with views toward Lake Massawippi and is known as one of Manoir Hovey's gathering spaces.
One of the best decisions we made for our wedding!
The morning with Olivia was full of energy and some of our favorite people. She got ready in the beautiful Lakeside Pavilion at Manoir Hovey, surrounded by her hair and makeup team, family, and friends. Before the day took an unexpected turn, she received a beautiful bouquet from Enfants Sauvages, along with a handwritten letter: two quiet and emotional moments that gave us the chance to slow down and take it all in.
Then came the dress.
Just as everything seemed to be coming together, we discovered that Olivia’s custom wedding dress wasn’t going to zip. The timeline quickly shifted by about an hour and a half, but Olivia handled it like a warrior. With help from the coordinator, the Manor seamstress, us, and everyone around her, we adjusted as we went and gave the dress the time it needed.
Chris’s morning was every bit as fun and playful as he is. The day started with him and all his closed friends playing some tennis under the backyard Sperry tent, followed by lake plunges to top it off with a relaxed spa moment: a pretty great way to spend the morning before getting married.
Later, things shifted into getting-ready mode in one of the Deluxe Suites at the Lakeside Pavilion. Surrounded by his brother, brother-in-law, dad, and stepdad, Chris got dressed, shared plenty of laughs, and took a quieter moment to read through his vows before heading to the ceremony.
We loved following him through both sides of the morning: the playful, energetic chaos with his friends, and the more intimate moments with the people closest to him. It gave us a pretty perfect glimpse of the person Chris is and the people who make up his world.
There were definitely some emotional moments, but there was also a lot of love, laughter, and support around Olivia. Once everything was sorted, we made the most of the time we had left for portraits with her Nonna, family, and friends, followed by some beautiful bridal portraits before heading to the ceremony.

Thank you to the talented vendors who helped bring this weekend to life with such care and creativity. Collaborating with people who are just as passionate and invested as we are is one of the most meaningful parts of what we do.

The ceremony took place at Sainte-Élisabeth Church in North Hatley, a small and intimate church just minutes from Manoir Hovey. The historic church, located on Capelton Road, has been part of the North Hatley community for more than a century.
And then came one of our favorite moments of the entire weekend.
After the ceremony and group photo, Olivia and Christopher surprised their guests with a champagne shower right outside the church. Champagne flew, everyone reacted at once, and we happened to be in exactly the right place to photograph all of it.
The timing was almost unbelievable. We were already about an hour and a half behind schedule, it had been raining throughout the morning, and more rain was in the forecast. Yet the second Olivia and Christopher stepped outside to leave in their white Ford Bronco, the sun came out.
Sometimes you really can't plan these things.
Because of the morning's delay, we had about ten minutes for portraits of the newlyweds before heading back to Manoir Hovey for the reception. So we ran.
After family portraits, we headed straight to the dock on Lake Massawippi and made the most of every minute. Ten minutes was all we needed to create a quick series of portraits before joining everyone inside.
Back at Manoir Hovey, guests gathered at Le Hatley Restaurant for the wedding reception. The restaurant combines the historic character of the Manoir with a refined dining experience rooted in Québec's terroir. Under Chef Alexandre Vachon, the menu draws on seasonal ingredients and local producers, with each dish reflecting the landscape and culinary traditions of Québec.
Olivia and Christopher were seated beside the fireplace, surrounded by their favorite people. The room quickly filled with laughter, happy tears, heartfelt speeches, and the kind of energy that makes photographing a reception particularly fun.
Then it was back to Le Tap Room for their first dance, followed by the mother-son and father-daughter dances. A saxophonist took over the dance floor, the energy went through the roof, and by the end of the night, Olivia and Christopher were being lifted into the air by their friends.
Exactly how a wedding weekend should end.
